So...! I found this crochet vest, beautiful floral skirt, and deep blue satchel a few towns over in a newly built Goodwill. Needless to say, I will be returning there frequently come summer. ;) The prices are cheaper than the ones in my town, so I am definitely going to get on that. I can't wait to go thrifting over the summer and looking for new places to find treasures. Many of you comment about how I always find great things at Goodwill - the thing is, the Goodwills' in the area are the only places I really know about to thrift...! San Fransisco is great, but I can't go there to thrift whenever I get the urge. Any Bay Area bloggers know great thrifting locations in the northern bay/Napa area?
Anyway, I kind of love this outfit - especially after I stole my mom's necklace. I love the knot! I think it's awesome. It was seriously storming earlier today, but as soon as it calmed, I ran out to take these photos, expecting to have to hurry because the rain would come back. But now, a few hours later, it's actually sunny! Unfortunately my plans for this weekend had to shift a bit, so tonight I'm just hanging out at home a bit with Nat. I have full confidence that we will still have a lovely evening though. ;) We're going to watch Shutter Island! Have a lovely Saturday! x

well, it's true! you always find AWESOME things. Sometimes I wonder why I suck so bad at thrifting, I don't know, I try and try, and nothing. Maybe you can give us a tip on what stuff you look for or something? That would be really cool :) Anyway, I love the necklace! Very cute :)
ReplyDeleteoh no way! what a cool place to live- it was a way fun trip! SO many things to do compared to our little town. Love this outfit so much! especially the necklace and vest:)
ReplyDeleteYour mom has great taste! Love this skirt--it contrasts just perfectly with the top. What did you think of Shutter Island? I thought it was a bit heavy handed but still pretty fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteWe should go thrifting together this summer! We could do like a thrift exchange trip or something... I'll show you around the San Jose thrift scene and you can show me around the North Bay scene if you're at all interested!

It's a great little vest, and I'm also very much in envy of your boots! And finding cheaper thrift stores is always a good thing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos -- what kind of camera do you have? And lovely outfit too and you look great with short hair! You actually kind of look like the lead singer of Pomplamoose.

Oh girl, you look wonderful! I am loving the floral maxi and the 1990s influence. It makes me miss San Francisco so much! And e-mail me if you want some good spots in the Napa area- they are far to precious to share on the Internet :-) xx

You look so cute here! And those are absolutely great finds, good luck finding new places to thrift!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this outfit darling. Everything from the vest to the skirt to the necklace is really just perfect. Hope you had a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Thank you!! That white dress with stripes isn't vintage, but is definitely a 50s/60s shape, and I got it at a little store called Cozy that sells mostly like asian fashion boutiquey type stuff, and this dress happened to be on sale at the end of the season so I grabbed it rather ecstatically.
ReplyDeleteI frequent al the thrift stores and consignment stores around me a LOT....and sometimes I find good stuff there. my thrift stores get so picked over though, so it's hard to find a really good dresses. I also try to look up estate sales and go to those early in the morning....also sometimes antique shops. haha sorry this probably isn't very helpful since it's all over the place! also, etsy! I usually can't afford the dresses on etsy, but I check it all the time especially around my birthday for gift time;)
what a lovely outfit! your blog is beautiful.x
ReplyDeleteDarling outfit! That shade of blue looks fabulous on you. Love your style and totally jealous of your haircut! GORG!

What a great outfit! I don't actually like Goodwill much - I never have very good luck there. I prefer small, independent thrift stores, or small Salvation Armies. If you can't find them, though, Goodwell is good. ;-)
