Hi! Thanks for all the birthday wishes and advice! My birthday yesterday was good... :) I had a fine day at school; two of my friends made little cakes for me and other goodies... and that night, I went out to dinner with my family and boyfriend and opened a few presents later. It was a calm, pleasant night! A few presents that I thought I'd mention... I got a box full of scarves and a few pieces of clothing from my Grandma and Grandpa, including a great vintage leather jacket and jean jacket. The scarves are beautiful and I already wore the leather jacket today. Look out for those in future posts! My dad got me the full Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit book series. I haven't yet read the series, but I've been meaning to, and it's a favorite of my parents, and also where my parents got the idea for my name. Also, Nat gave me this beautiful bracelet and these darling earrings that you can see in this post. They are so unique!
Anyway, I wore this yesterday! I thrifted this 80s dress for 4 dollars a few weeks ago. I normally don't like 80s fashion too much, but I thought the unique design and sash on this one was too cute too pass up. Nat helped me with these photos as always, and I think they portray the outfit nicely, but also my personality. :) See the last vertical photo of me... I think that's me twirling and beginning to fall in my uber tall heels...Oh dear... heh.
That leads me to my last point. What I got out of all your kind advice about "growing up" and "becoming an adult"... 18 is just a number! It's just another year, and while it does come with making more decisions and acting more responsible... that doesn't mean the fun ends and now it's "adult time". One thing I love about the blogging world, is the youthful spirit and joyfulness of everyone. At least the ladies I follow try their very best to live life doing things they love, and there is so much happiness there. That's what I want to find and harness as I get older.
As always, thank you all so much for your continuous support and kindness! I really don't know who I'd be without the influence of you lovely ladies in my life. :) I hope you all have a beautiful day, and get excited - tomorrow is Friday! x

I missed your official birth-day, so I'll make up for it now. Happy Birthday, Elanor! At least I got to read the recap of it.
ReplyDeleteI adore you wedges! I think anyone would turn into a wobbly walker wearing them, they seem tall. haha
I'm glad everyone else was able to leave helpful advice because I really don't have any! I don't think I ever had a changing moment when I turned 18. It just kind of happened and I never thought much of it!
Oh I know just what you mean! Growing up can feel so scary sometimes! I turn 18 in three months and it used to be so scary. Lately, however, I've come to accept it. The way I look at is: just because being a kid was awesome doesn't mean that the rest of our lives won't be! Growing up is just another adventure, and I can't wait for it! :D
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your outfit! I never would have guessed that that outfit is from the 80's. You wear it really well! <3
yay happy 18th pretty lady!
