Crochet Calling

top: c/o sugarlips, skirt, wedges, & belt: thrifted, clutch: vintage, bandeau: american apparal
So... I'm really embarrassed about this, but I'm finally posting a look with this top that the lovely company Sugarlips gifted me with long, long ago. I believe that they sent it to me back in the colder months, and I didn't wear it until it heated up (obviously). Don't get me wrong - I've worn it before today, but today was the first time I actually got photos of me wearing it! Ahhh unbelievable how long it has taken me. But anyway, I really love this crochet top and I always get a bunch of compliments when I wear it. The only issue I have with it is that the straps are really long. In order to wear it, I have to tie the straps together unless I want to somehow sew the straps tighter myself - but I'm not sure that's really doable since it's crochet...

Anyway, these photos were taken with my new lens and edited with my old methods, hehe. I guess I'm not good with change...? We'll see if I decide to stop editing them like this eventually...! I just can't decide if I am bored of this kind of vintage-y look, or if I still love it. Bleeeergh! Well, I hope you have a nice weekend! It's scorching here...! xx

  1. I love your style!! It is so unique, and inspiring! I received a crochet vest for Christmas, and wanted to be a bit more adventurous with it. I think I'll try it with floral, since you have made it look so good!!:)

  3. i liked the photos unedited, but i am very much for unedited photos. the roundabout photos you posted looked so good, i can't even tell you used an new lens in these :( but it's really your style, and your call. and this is just my opinion.

  6. I can see why that would be hard to style in the winter, haha. But it looks so lovely now! I'm sure you'll figure out something to do with those straps with time!

Also, your pictures with your new lens look great! And lots and lots sharper. Are you enjoying it? :D I really like the vintage look you give your pictures, it's definitely very you, though of course there's never anything wrong with a little experimentation. :)

oooo elanor i love the old vintagy vibe you give your photos! must be a ton of work though if your camera doesn't automatically take the photos like that.

  9. Yay for new lenses! The photos look great, as does this top. I've been looking for a crochet one for a while but haven't quite found the right one yet. Also congrats on graduating high school!!

  10. Love the crochet top, it is so unusual. It sometimes takes a while to get around to these things - I went to a Polaroid sunglasses press day back in February but it was in the middle of winter then so I only just posted about them! I'm sure companies prefer you to write about things when people are actually more likely to be interested :)

  14. Your styling of that top is SO pretty! I absolutely adore it!! As for the vintage look of the photos?! I love it... but for my own photos I've purchased several vintage actions & rotate them periodically. Congrats on the new lens too!! xo

  15. This is such a pretty outfit! That crochet top is gorgeous.

I'm using my mom's 50mm lens until I can formally buy it from her. It's so great. I love it!

I love the vintage look on your photos, but if you're thinking about switching it up, why not do one post edited differently just to see if you like it?

  16. Oh I just adore this outfit miss! You look mighty stunning in that crochet top (I would never have the guts to wear something so gorgeous like that!) but you pull it off so perfectly!

I'm so glad to hear about your new 50MM 1.4 lens! How exciting. It stinks that the Canon 50MM 1.8 lens that I have feels like such a toy. :/ probably because it was only $99.00 though, haha. The photos look wonderful without the editing! But either way I think they would still be gorg :).

    xoxo!
