One of my favorite past-times living in the Bay Area has been going to the Alameda Point Antiques Faire (thought I call it simply the flea market). Not only do I often come away with a few gems, but as you can see from the photos, many vendors set up their booths so beautifully and it's just a fun time to walk around and look at everything. While I was there this past Sunday, I found a few gifts for my friends, so I think I came away successful! This year I'm trying my best to be more giving than in the past. I'm a penny pincher, so sometimes giving gifts is difficult for me. But I really want to change this because it actually is a lot of fun putting together a great gift for someone!

I kept it casual this day with a cozy sweater and jeans. Not often will you find me like this, as you probably know. A few times over the past few months I surprised my friends at SPU by wearing jeans! That's how you know that it's not a usual occurrence. But sometimes it's necessary, of course.

Are you all having a nice weekend? My friends have all begun to come back from college this weekend, so (hopefully!) I will have a busy week next week catching up with everyone and traipsing  around San Francisco and such. :) I'll see you soon with a Mixtape Monday! xxoo

  4. You take such elegant photos of the flea market and make it look like a magical place (although you described it as one, too, so maybe it is magical! haha)

I love giving gifts! I think the thing I'm learning as I get older is giving nice, meaningful gifts. As a kid I would hand out anything I could find/make (yarn dolls, homemade coupons, cards with no money inside) and I think this year I really nailed it and am giving out very thoughtful presents.

Your adventurous fashion choice is awesome. I love denim on denim - and your cardigan just makes the whole thing fabulous. :)

  11. Elanor,
Thank SO much for being such a regular commenter on my blog. I read your post about the lack of commenting that you've seen present on blogs lately, but you certainly know how to remedy that! Your jeans outfit is just wonderful. I used to feel like jeans just meant that I wasn't pulled together like I normally am, but I've turned over a new leaf. Looks like you had a great time!

P.S.- In regards to your question about my camera equipment, I use a Canon 5D Mark II and (currently) an 85mm portrait lens, although I prefer my, sadly broken, 50mm.
