Indian Beach, 2013

Here are the last of the photos from my trip to Portland, OR / Vancouver, WA. The Sunday following my birthday & the concert, Rachael and I went to Indian Beach at Ecola State Park. This is the same beach we went to over spring break when I stayed with her for a few days before spring quarter began. Exploring the tide pools and the nooks and crannies of the beach is such fun! Not to mention we ate a delicious lunch of peanut thai noodles that her mom made us. Currently desiring those noodles. Ugh yum.

Fast forwarding to now: hello final week of summer! I'm in the process of packing up to leave for Seattle and you know what that means... the floor of my room is basically covered in everything I own (I mean that in a literal sense and a figurative sense, if you get me). My mom and I drive up Friday; move in day is Saturday; first day of classes is Monday. All my nerves and excites are being activated. My feelings towards leaving for my sophomore year of college are certainly different from my feelings before freshman year... yet at the same time, there are some similarities. Maybe I'll throw in a post about those similarities in the next couple days.

Last week I was freaking out a bit about going back to school. It seems I go through little periods of time where I'm super ready and then periods of time where I'm like ACK NO WAIT or something. Silly, I know. This weekend was that transition where I gained perspective, took a deep breath, and calmed down. Thank goodness for that. I feel just about ready to get back to Seattle, just about ready to be back in my other world.

Just a few things left to do. xx

currently listening to // explosions in the sky - it's natural to be afraid

  1. Mmmm explosions in the sky. That is such a great song. I adore them. I am never not in the mood to listen to them. Good luck going back to school! I always get the back to school jitters too but the first day of class is always so exciting.
