One of my favorite bands is The xx. They put out their first album, xx, in 2009 and it is one of those albums where you love each and every song on it. But as someone who listens to a lot of music, you always have those fears that the second album won't live up to the first album. The xx's second album is due out on September 11th and from the two songs that they have released so far, I don't think I'll be disappointed...! If I could change one thing, I'd want the songs to be longer! They are short and sweet, which is why I've had these two stuck on repeat. Please take a listen & enjoy! {original photo}

NYC: A Rinky Tinky Tinky!

These photos are from Sunday and Monday of last weekend when I was traversing through New York with Nicole. It seemed that we started taking less and less photos as the weekend went on, probably because it was so hot and took so much effort to use our cameras. ;) However, I got enough between those two days to make some semblance of a post! Though unfortunately there are no photos from my outfit on Sunday.  You'll see a replication of it soon enough, I'm sure.

Sunday was an odd day indeed. We were in the city during the morning and sort of shopped and bought MACARONS. Unfortunately mine tasted like perfume and I didn't really like it. So, obviously, I can't be a fashion blogger anymore. I'm a shame to all bloggers, in fact. Buuutt anyway! That afternoon we went to Nicole's work because she had an event for which she had to be present. I sang One Direction at her but also helped put up chairs, so I wasn't completely a nuisance. I wanted to meet her co worker but he didn't turn up because he's a BAD PERSON. Ask Nicole, she'll tell you. Anywho! That was fun and different and I felt very official because people kept asking me questions but I had no idea because I didn't actually work there!

After the reading, Nicole was going to take me out for dinner at this cute place near where she works, but then HER CAR HAD ORGAN FAILURE AND IT'S LIFE FORCE CROAKED. So we almost died (not really) and her parents had to come save us (because AAA couldn't). Overall it was a stressful event for Nicole, I'm sure, but we made up for it that evening with DELICIOUS New York pizza, the Aristocats, Los Burros, and of course Party Rockin'. I miss Nicole, you guys.

Sunday was wake-up-late/ices/beach and then airport day. :( And now this wraps up the NY trip. Uuummph I'm sad reminiscing over all this! I think as soon as possible, I'm going to demand that Nicole flies out to San Francisco and we can party rock over here. Yes, I think that's a good plan. xx

NYC: El Buuuurro

Post number two from my New York trip! I think there will be only one more after this, so no worries if you are already bored. Which I'm sure none of you are! Nicole and I are so fascinating, right?! I suppose you can't truly know how fascinating someone is unless you actually spend time with them in person, so you'll have to take my word on the coolness factor of both Nicole and myself! ;) While staying with Nicole, I learned that she sings a lot in normal conversation which I did not expect, and her use of slang ("WORD") and just general mannerisms are a site to behold. In addition, one night at 3AM we spent a good half hour comparing west coast/east coast accents and ways of saying words, which turned out to be hilarious and amazing all at once.

These photos are from Saturday where we spent the day looking through shops and then that night we ate Shake Shack and went to a Bronx house party! Awww yeah! We felt painfully out of place though. It wasn't our type of shindig I guess. The party lacked bearded men and the Fleet Foxes spinning on a record player. Ah well. You can't have it all.

I think a majority of what Nicole and I ended up doing over the weekend was eating. And gosh... New York food is YUMMY. We ate a variety of dishes, but I gotta say, the bagels were absolutely delicious and the cheese pizza was hard to beat. I guess they don't lie about that kind of thing do they? Also we had these weird things called "ices" which is like ice and ice cream together as one. The texture is hard to explain but it was TASTY. And I want another one. Now. I'll leave you there with the thought of delicious NY food. K, byee! xx

NYC: Party Rockin'

I have come to the conclusion that the internet is a wonderful tool, indeed. Where else would I have the opportunity to meet individuals with similar interests as me all the way across the United States? Oh, and if only it were just "similar interests". Guys, I'm in love with Nicole of Coco Maria. Don't tell her because she might think I'm even weirder than she has already learned that I am.... BUT I'M DEAD SERIOUS. I just spent four days with her in New York and I think it's safe to say I had such an awesome time.

I've met Nicole a few times in the past before, but this was the first extended visit. Within the first evening we were already chatting like crazy and by the next day, I felt like we had been friends forever. She is SO FUNNY and just so nice and goofy and I think I may have been laughing 90% of the trip. Somehow we never ran out of things to talk about and she even put up with my constant complaining about the heat as well as a bunch of bug bites on my legs. :D

These photos are just from Friday, which is when we did a bit more touristy things like Time Square and the Top of the Rock. Don't mind my incredibly short dress. Ohjeez. I was sent this dress by the online company Sheinside and while I think it has an incredibly darling print... the less-than-ideal quality and length of the dress is not something I really adore. In regards to the length... let's just say I'm glad I wore shorts under the dress.

Anywho! This is post one out of a series of posts I will have from my NY trip. And of course I'll talk more about how wonderful Nicole is in each one. ;) Talk to you soon! & I'm glad to be back to the internet world! xx
