Happy July!

A day late, but you understand my intentions. ;) It's Fourth of July weekend, at that! I have got some mighty plans for Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, the county fair with Derek (where I live, there is a county fair that goes from July 1st - July 5th. Fireworks each night. It's nice if you're out of town for the 4th; so you can go other days.). And Sunday, towards the evening, a group of my friends, Derek, and I are going to go into the city to see the fireworks show. :) What are you guys going to be doing for the fourth? That is, if you live in the states.

(me, walking back from the neighbor's house.)

Today was another boring, around-the-house, kind of day. I made egg salad for a very late lunch around 3:30ish and went to water my neighbor's plants at 5ish. The only reason why this was good beside getting $5 a day (working 4 days total), is that I took these photos in their backyard. Yay! Scenery change! Haha. :)

This dress (worn as a shirt here) is a bit new, and I just love the little flowers. Even though it was hot again today, I put this skirt over the dress and tossed on my thick, leather belt as well. Oh! And of course, my new green kitten heels! Image below. They are slightly uncomfortable for long walking experiences, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. If not, oh well... fashion is pain? Heheh. Hopefully not always...!

Being home alone like I am a large part of the day now when I don't go out and do anything, I tend to become grumpy and irritable. I'm the kind of person who likes to get dressed up and go out. That's just how I am. So when I'm stuck at home (whether it be by my own accord or not), I get in a funk. During these times I think I need to think about what's good in my life and stop with the self-pity/sometimes self-destruction. So, I've decided that every Friday I'm going to write a list of 5 things that I'm thankful for this past week. You all should do the same! :)

This past week...
1. I'm thankful that my dad finally got a job after these long months.
2. I'm thankful for my amazing boyfriend, Derek, who gets me little trinkets from Tuesday Morning like a sweetie. ♥
3. I'm thankful for my mom, who takes me to last minute vintage shopping events, and even buys stuff for me! Heheh.
4. I'm thankful for egg salad, and how cool it is that I can make it now! :D Also, iced coffee! Yum.
5. I'm thankful for all my old friends on Deviantart - the fact that I still have watchers when I haven't posted any new art in so long.

Writing this makes me realize how much I take for granted. I have so much, and it's about time I start being thankful, eh? This probably applies to everyone. What are you thankful for?
