Merry Christmas Eve!

Because I finally manged to get my photos to upload onto flickr via our hotel room, you guys get some photos - now cheer with me, hurray! This posting thing has been difficult and frustrating, but I'm super glad I finally got the photos to upload! Now hopefully I can do something for a Christmas post tomorrow! Unfortunately, the last few days we've been mostly seeing museums - which means there isn't a lot of beautiful, historic buildings to take pictures of! And many exhibits in the museums wouldn't let you take photos, anyway! But I'm going to show you guys a few photos that will suit ya. :)

My outfit for today is the bundle-up-in-scarves-and-cardigans look. Now let me tell you, the east coast is fairly colder than the west coast this time 'o year! I've been living in California for the past 5 years, so going back to a cold place is strange! The temps are not that low, but low enough for me! But the wind is really what chills you to the bone. I decided to layer up, and when I say layer up, I really say layer up! (I'm even wearing tights under my jeans!)

SO, yesterday we toured the White House, which was pretty cool. Then we went to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History and spent the remainder of the day there. The most interesting part to me was the exhibit on the first ladies dresses. It was cool seeing the fashionable wear of the age. My favorites were these sketches below - obviously closer to the 1800s than the more current ones! These ones were beautiful!

But today we went to the Holocaust Memorial museum. This was very interesting, let me tell you. We got the little identification cards before entering, which gave you info about a real person alive during that time. My girl relates to me sort of! Hehe. "...took an interest in fashion..." But all the information about this event in history really makes you think. It's eye opening.

Anyway, I'm off to finish watching It's a Wonderful Life with my family. It's a tradition that I decided we should have! It's such a great film; a total classic.

Have a lovely Christmas Eve!

  1. The Holocaust museum makes me so humble each time I go to it. I really resonate with what happened, maybe because I'm part Jewish, but either way I'm so glad its there.

On a happier note, Have a great Christmas!

  2. The National Museum of American History is my favorite! Looks like you're having a great time.. Your photos are gorgeous!

  3. I think it's great that you get to visit all these museums (especially the Holocaust museum) and the White House. I remember I went there when I was in fourth grade, and I wondered if I'd get a glimpse of the president. Needless to say... I didn't. x)

I really dig the outfit and the color palette-- it's definitely something I'd wear to keep warm! Merry Christmas!

  6. Merry Christmas to you!
    what a lovely outfit :)

  7. you look extremely bundled up, but it's a very cute look! love your hair :)

  8. You look quite cute and bundled up! I always wear tights under my jeans in winter, and it probably isn't even that cold enough here in TX to actually do it, but I do.

The Holocaust Museum is one of the places I want to visit before I die. It seems like a really amazing place and experience. And of course, I'd probably weep like a baby.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I appreciate each and every comment I receive. It means the world. xx
