skirt: zara, shirt & tights: target, blazer, shoes, & belt: goodwill
While I love this skirt because of how flowy it is, along with the little sheep on it - I despise how short it is. I don't think I've worn it for at least 6 months or more because of it's length. I feel so exposed with it, and I don't know how I could feel comfortable wearing it sans tights come summer.... But beside it's irritating length, the colors in this outfit make me happy and eager for spring.

However, that doesn't seem to be happening just yet. It's been rainy and cloudy for a while now! And while this seems like an indication that spring is on its way - it's just been cold and windy! If there was one thing I could change about Northern California that would perhaps make me like it better, it would be the wind. Half the time, if it wasn't windy, it would be warm out. Ick.

What I'm enjoying right now, though, is the fact that it is 6 o'clock and still light out. Now that is a good sign of spring! x

  1. Oh, God. I hate wind so much and it's so windy here! Today felt like the apocalypse. I thought I was going to end up hanging from a tree hahaha! It was that bad. I love your outfit and your hairstyle just suits you perfectly. Every time I see your pictures I go "she looks perfect!"

  2. My favorite thing about this outfit is the jade color of that shirt! I just love that! And I couldn't agree more on the subject of short skirts, there is almost nothing more annoying than walking at school and feeling paranoid about the length! Ugh!

And about the letter writing... no worries about fast replies! That's a lot of the fun of the whole thing... you just never know when you're going to get a letter... it's a surprise! :)

  3. Even though your skirt is a tad too short the print is beautiful!! I always hate feeling insecure about the length of a skirt/dress. Especially on windy days! And I just adore your necklace. It has such a neat shape.

  4. I know what you mean about the skirt length. I have a number of skirts that get put away each summer just because I won't wear them sans tights. I've thought about trying some of them with bicycle shorts this season. Maybe you should try the same! Maybe a great pair of shorts to go under our short skirts is the secret we've both been missing out on!

  7. I have a Zara skirt about the same length and it gets about as much wear. Why can't they make their adorable skirts just a little bit longer?

  8. Great pattern mixing here : ) I have the same problems with my skirts. They need to give more options in lengths! Not everyone likes to show so much leg, ha.

  9. Ahhh I hate that irritatingly short length that skirts seems to be everywhere at the moment! Your skirt looks lovely with tights though - I didnt even notice the shortness untill after I read your post. Its a gorgeous print too!

  19. This outfit is amazing!! I love those tights so much and I know I say this all the time, but can I have your hair? And actually be able to pull it off? Which would be impossible because short hair looks horrendous on me, but seriously..you are so beautiful! Are you having a good week Elanor? I have been thinking about you and what we talked about in the emails. Hugs! xoxo

  22. the print on that skirt is so adorable! could you maybe wear those spandex shorts underneath in the summer to feel more covered? they're like leggings (same fabric), but shorter.

  23. It's been pretty warm here, so I'm sure spring is just around the corner for y'all as well. I'm definitely looking forward to being able to take photos at 8pm again...instead of 4pm!
