Happy September 6th! My birthday is tomorrow... September 7th. I'm turning 18! I'm kind of nervous. I don't feel ready to be a real adult yet! Eeeps. Any words of advice? Many of you are experienced adults already, so I think I can ask you this without getting crackpot answers. ;) I don't think I'm having a crazy party or anything. Tomorrow night I'm going to go out to dinner with my family... Friday I may do something with friends, and Saturday Nathaniel and I are going to do something I think?? As you can see... I'm not a big birthday planner person. From my past experience, birthdays haven't been all they're cracked up to be. Hrrmph.

But anyway! Sunday, my lovely mother and I went to the Alameda Flea Market and bustled around there for the morning/early afternoon. As always, there were awesome things to see and people to watch. Unfortunately this really yummy food truck that we ate from last time wasn't there... but we managed to find some other stuff to eat 'round noon anyway.

Hope you all had a fantastic Labor Day, as well as enjoyed my Mixtape Monday! I'm really having fun with this new feature! Talk to you all soon! xx

  1. Oh my goodness, Elanor! I have the exact same skirt! At least, it looks really, really similar ... I blogged it a couple of days ago. Sorry, just got really excited when I saw your photos.
Happy birthday for tomorrow! No advice really. I still feel 18 (as does my mum) & life is one big learning curve. But enjoy your youth whilst you can ... Have an awesome day tomorrow.

  4. I loved 18, and now at a tender age of 22 (!) I think the best advise I can give is to enjoy it and not take it too seriously, have fun learning and the freedom it can give you!!

  11. I hope you have a fun birthday!!! I really didn't start feeling like a real adult until I was 22. I got married and moved out of my parents house at that age:) It's all relative. It is really cool to vote though!! Once you register to vote you'll feel like you have an adult voice:) Then maybe you'll get jury duty!!

  12. I really like that first photo of you, looks as if you seemed pleased... :) that is always a nice way too look, I suppose. Enjoy the last dwindling hours of being 17. As I have been living in the age of 18 for a few months now... I'm here to say that it doesn't really feel any different than 17... at least for now it doesn't. We're still so young... and don't really have to make adult decisions... that is until that complex thing called college comes closer and closer. Enjoy your special day! Hugs... M

and you're right, birthdays aren't all they are cracked up to be. in terms of advice, do what makes you happy. if you don't know what that is, work on figuring that out.
