Steal Tomorrow

dress & belt: thrifted, heels: aerosoles, sunglasses: h&m, purse: forever 21
Thank you all for your comments on my post yesterday. It means so much to me that I can open my heart and be vulnerable here and you all have nothing but kindness to give back to me. A personal goal for me on this blog is to continue to be real with you all and simultaneously improve the quality of my writing. While I think my photography has definitely come a long way since the origination of Missing Lovebirds, I believe my writing could be better. Basically, I'm going to try to write more - so get ready for that! :)

In different news, I received my roommate assignment for this fall! I've started to talk with some people from my dorm/floor as well, so college is beginning to feel so very real! There are a number of things I still need to do to prepare for school however, including dorm room shopping...which I have a feeling won't be too much of a chore. ;) My mom just informed me yesterday that we will be driving up to Seattle and not flying which makes everything more convenient in the aspect of transporting all my stuuufff. Which, by the way, I still  need to figure out how to downsize. Eeeps. Any advice on bringing clothes to college?

This outfit was from a few days ago - Saturday to be exact! I lovee this dress and it was thrifted, which makes it that much better. A special thankyou to my sweet mother to taking these photos! She also took the photos from my last outfit post, so she's on a roll. :)) I think they look great! I hope you all have a lovely Wednesday. xx

  1. This dress! I wish it weren't thrifted, because I would buy it from a shop in an instant. It looks great, and hats off to your mother-- she's quite the photographer!

When I was in college, I found that I 1. had very little space in my dorm, 2. kept bringing more clothes back every time I went home, and 3. acquired lots of clothes while at school because of the different thrifting/shopping opportunitiesl. So my advice would be to pack lightly and seasonably, especially if you're getting home for Thanksgiving and can use that as a chance to swap some summer clothes for more winter-y wear. And make sure to get bed risers or cinderblocks to elevate your bed: under the bed is the best storage space!

  5. This is a killer outfit! Love the polka-dots and the shoes are too cute. Those sunnies are pretty awesome as well. PS. Sorry to hear about and Nat. I know more than a handful of people that are all suddenly single. It's so hard to watch your friends go through that kind of pain. I promise it gets better. Keep your chin up pretty girl. Oh and your mom is a great photographer! :D

  6. Cute cute polka dots! I'm glad that you're able to be so real. You're so brave to open up to all these people! I'm glad that nobody is a meanie-face to you, though. You're so sweet, so it's not like they'd have a reason to be mean anyway! :) <3

As for college, I would say bring the bare essentials--don't worry about bringing along things that you can buy at any place once you get there. Simple wardrobe, especially if your college is a walk around to get to class kind of college. I ended up bringing most of my pretty clothes home... then again, I live in the south, and it's super hot and I just didn't want to sweat so much in my nice clothes, haha.

  7. You look darling, but what takes it to the next level is how perfectly you accessorize without it ever feeling over the top. It looks very effortless.

Good luck with moving into the dorm! Exciting. My advise is get hangers etc for good storage and know if you will have more drawer space or closet space, and bring things that mix and match well. You'll look good in whatever though, I think...

  8. I feel your pain. I'm going off to University and I have so many clothes! I don't really own much except for clothes. I'm sure I will be fine. Probably going to gain more clothes in college anyways so, I will probably take only the clothes I really like. :)

  15. I like your heart-locket necklace (if that's what it is). And that pic of you with that big smile on your face is so sweet. Good luck in preparation for college. I live in Seattle so I may see you around if I'm lucky!
