Yesterday my mom and I attended the annual Rivertown Revival fest in Petaluma -- a perfectly quirky music/art/food event that is essentially celebrating the Petaluma River. But personally I think it's a just a day that all the Steampunk junkies come out and get to go nuts. This year I didn't get any photos of costumes, but you can check my post from last year to get a better idea on what I'm talking about. My "costume" was put together pretty last minute, but I dunno... I like the outcome! Wearing one of my favorite long skirts as a dress is allowed, right? ;)
As I searched for last year's post on the Rivertown Revival fest, I looked through quite a few posts from a year ago. Sometimes it's fun to do this and see what you were like, but for me, doing this was more bittersweet. I feel an odd ache in my belly looking at myself from a year ago and remembering how I felt and what I knew and how I looked and just... who I was. Sometimes it doesn't feel like all too much can change in a year, but it really can, you know? And sometimes I don't feel too different; I'm still me. But then I really think about it and everything has changed. I s'pose I knew it would happen, but I guess I just didn't know how it would feel now. x

Oh gosh, looking a year back into blog posts can either be awful or it can be memorable... awful as in "oh geez, my pictures are super grainy and gross!" and wonderful as in "aw, I remember that, I'm still like that." And then there's the whole changing aspect as you described... blog posts are amazing little things. *____*
ReplyDeleteThe lighting in these photos is gorgeous, Miss Elanor!! And how beautiful is the bottom of that lace dress?
I'm really loving all your pictures lately. I mean, I always do, but you have such a creative eye!
Love your outfit and your photos. Yes, it is very surprising how much changes in a year, it just sneaks up on you and you feel like a completely different person.
