This is my backyard. Well, part of it. I live in a community that's about a 10 minute drive from town; within it I have a deep water lagoon and marshland at my fingertips. The open space is a wonderful place to go when you need some away time, as I've begun to notice more and more this summer. I come here to think and to journal and to be quiet. Too often is alone time in nature overlooked. My favorite hour to explore out here is at sunset. It's so beautiful and serene. Before this summer, I have to admit that I don't think I understood the marsh. I didn't understand the benefits of nature as I think I do now. I'm not sure what flipped the switch in me, but I'm glad it did. xx
Nice! Glad you are enjoying nature! He has provided us with astounding bounty! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are goooorgeous, Elanor! So warm and dreamy. *___* And the fact that you have a lagoon and marshland so close sounds delightful! Nature really is a lovely thing--our backyard sits on a lake, and we have chairs down by the lake, and during the day when the mosquitoes aren't rampant I like to go sit in our red chairs and reflect (and I'm also guilty of bringing my laptop there, woops!)
ReplyDeletePS) your new blog layout is so charming! I love the title font especially *___*
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are gorgeous. I always wish I had somewhere to sit outside near my apartment. I'm sure it's really great watching the sun set where you live.
ReplyDeleteLove the new layout! And, as someone who lives in the country, I have to say it's really nice to have such beauty in the backyard! great pictures!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous that you have access to this! Our apartment is literally riiight next to a pretty busy train track, so I would do a lot for some peace and quiet sometimes :)

ReplyDeleteSummer peace and quiet is the best peace and quiet. This looks like the most perfect place to sit and think. I'm getting ready to move into the city and I'm getting sad about losing my quiet escapes that I live so close to right now.
