Deep Mountain Waters

dress: H&M, thrifted, brogues: goodwill, purse: vintage dooney & bourke, thrifted, scarf: my mom's
Happy Tuesday! I hope you guys liked my Mixtape Monday feature yesterday... I am really excited to start adding onto Missing Lovebirds and I thought a day just for music would suit this blog well. After all... I love music! Who doesn't?!

These photos are from Saturday when Nathaniel and I spent the day together just having fun. He and I share the same sense of humor, so we can amuse ourselves for hours... I love it! And of course, this kid always helps me with my photos. What a guy! We got burgers at a local joint in Fairfax and took them to the bleachers at a baseball feild nearby to chow down. Yummy. I'm trying my best to cut back on soda, though, so it was water for me. :) Which was fine! Water is good! Why haven't I realized this??

We took photos by this pretty mural that we stumbled upon, and it just so happened to look great with my thrifted H&M dress. Awesome coincidence! Anyway, I obviously added a lot of photos to this post....18 to be exact. Just a warning! ;) I simply liked them all too much to not add them. Oh well. Not gunna apologize this time!

Oh, also, this purse is a recently thrifted vintage Dooney & Bourke! I swear, I love them too much. Wait, actually I just love purses and bags too much. Sigh. But especially Dooney & Bourke! Oh wellll...... I'll talk to you all sooon! xx

SF//Qs//400 followers!

blouse & boots: goodwill, cardigan: vintage, purse: dooney & burke, etsy, jeans: forever 21
Hey! So, these photos are from last weekend when my relatives from Michigan came out for a visit! I didn't mention anything on here cuz it was pretty quick and busy right before school started... but now I'll give a bit of info. We took them on our own little tour of the city, showing touristy things and the like. It was fun feeling as though I knew something about a place that other don't! ...Despite the fact that I don't live in San Francisco and don't really know all that much...haha.... But it was a fun last weekend. :)

Anyway, that's all I'm going to say about that cause I want to keep this post short and I still wanna mention few things...! One, I've put an FAQ section on my About Me page (which so far just has 3 questions, haha) and I finally made my very own Formspring for Missing Lovebirds. Now you can ask me stuff! The box is to the right on my sidebar, as you probably can see. AND, as my final announcement.... I made it to 400 followers! I'm so thrilled and thankful that you guys have stuck with me this long... and that this silly little blog has become something I am very proud of and love in my life.

As strange or silly as this may sound, blogging and personal style has given me a passion. I realize that I had been waiting to find something that I am truly passionate about doing, and I hadn't found that passion till I start this blog. I'm so happy I did, and I'm so happy to have met all of you. So, thank you all again! And I DO in fact, have a giveaway planned! I just need to photograph it... ;) Talk to you all soon, loves! xx

First Day of School!

shirt: my brother's/cut up by me, skirt & belt: goodwill, sandals: thrifted, bandeau: american apparel
Hey there! I first of all want to thank you all for the comments on my last post regarding my nervousness about lack of comments... I hope you all know I'm not trying to complain. I never take for granted the brilliant folks who do comment on every one of my posts! I'm sorry if I was a bit complainy or if it came across that way. ♥

Second of all -- my first day of my senior year of high school was yesterday! It was actually a very good day. I'm really excited for myth and fantasy as well as econ (although econ is only a semester, then we switch to government). The only class I'm not excited for, and probably never will be is AP calculus. I'm sure you can understand why. :P Anyway, I got out around 2 and Nat and I wandered and talked in the heat. It's almost annoying... where I live, it generally gets the hottest in the summer right when we start school. Lucky us, eh?

I kept it comfy and casual with my first day of school garb. I still love long skirts, and I must say, I'm having fun with tying up my shirts like so as well. :) A bit later in the afternoon, I met my mom for Starbucks and we chatted about my first day over iced coffee drinks. Yumm. As you can see in these photos, my darling Zoey has made a guest appearance! Though she looks a little uncomfortable in that last photo...heh... Talk to you soon! xx

Fresh Start

dress: forever 21, belt: goodwill, purse & moccasins: thrifted
Hi to whoever is reading this... I've been feeling like Missing Lovebirds has been a little lacking on comments lately, which is slightly bothering me. I don't try to blog to get followers or comments or anything, but it does make me wonder when stats are static or when comments are less than normal. Is it because of content? Quality of content? The writing? Maybe people are just busy? Haha... Someone enlighten me.

Anyway, today as I'm posting is the last day of summer. I go back to school tomorrow and it's all over, kids! Well I hope not. I'm pretty excited, despite the pressure of the future and college looming over my shoulder. I finally got my actual schedule yesterday so my classes for this year are as follows; 1st period AP biology, 2nd period sculpture & ceramics, 3rd period myth and fantasy (a type of English class that my school offers!), 4th period AP calculus, 5th period economics, and 6th period advanced treble choir.

It's my first year only having 6 classes and I'm really excited! I get out at lunch on Tuesdays, which will be beautiful... :) Despite having 2 difficult AP classes, I think I'm going to do well and have a good year. Fingers crossed! See you soon, friends! xx

Party Dress!

dress: urban outfitters, wedges: kohl's, clutch: vintage, goodwill
Haylo lovelies! I hope you all are doing well! I feel like I haven't asked lately. I also feel like I haven't properly thanked you all for every sweet comment that I've received lately! I appreciate them so much and smile every time I see a new one. So thank you all! And now, how is it going? What is one fun thing you've done this weekend?

As I mentioned in my last post, I went to a going away party hosted by my friend and band mate Evan on Friday. It was a fun night full of laughs and good music - mostly bands that Evan is in, including Time Travel, the band that I was in with him. It was fun performing one last time with him and Sam, our other band mate. I say "the band that I was in" because Evan is going off to college in New York. I'll miss him and the times we had together, but I think really I am just thankful that I knew him and in some ways, by inviting me to be in a band, he sort of gave me the opportunity to grow from my shell. To explore performing and a new side to music and singing that I hadn't known. It was a truly awesome experience to be in a band with those two. I just regret that we didn't record all of our music in the end, like we had intended to. But life sort of got in the way.

Anyway, my point is that now that I've had a taste of it, I want to continue somehow. It won't be as automatically convenient as it was last year where I had a class period in school to write music... but that just means I have to do a bit more growing and find people who would be interested in making music with me. Small steps. I think I will start with Nathaniel. ;) He and I are planning on writing music together this year. I think it will be great.

Wow... just rambled. Oh well. That's what a blog is for, right? Sometimes I'd like to go more into detail with my thoughts - so thanks for reading, if you did! About the outfit... I told Nat this is mah PARTY DRESS! Cuz we were partying so hard! Haahaa... I just love these new wedges especially! I got them on mega sale at Kohl's. Imma rock them in the fall/winter with tights! Oops, this got long. K, have a beautiful Sunday! x
