Deviations & Lace

dress: garage sale, anthropologie, purse: forever 21, boots: marshall's
Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a lovely extra long weekend - though I think I would have probably enjoyed it more if I actually had something that I was getting off from! I'm still just hanging out over here; getting my stuff together and anticipating the last 14 days here in Northern California! My birthday is this Friday, so that's one last "big" thing that will be happening before I move. My plans are to go into San Francisco with my three closest friends and have a little pic nic in the park. Fingers crossed that the typical SF Indian summer will have drifted on in by then...!

If you watched my vlog - thank you so much! Talking to a video camera in an empty room is basically the more awkward thing ever, but I kind of started to get more used to it as the minutes ticked away. Sorry it was so long! If you watched it all, kudos to you! & thank you for all your sweet word about it. :) I'm glad it wasn't too much of a flop.

Anyway, about these photos! I wore this yesterday when hanging out with my friend Miranda. We shopped for college dorm stuff at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, wandered around San Rafael, checked out Goodwill, and of course, grabbed some frozen yogurt. This dress was given to me by a friend who was planning to get rid of it and sell it at her garage sale, but I picked it up off of her! I think it's beautiful... even well worth the somewhat copious amount of random compliments given to me by homeless (I think) people in San Rafael. I guess that was nice of them? I felt a bit awkward.

I feel like this outfit sort of deviates from my normal style - but I really dig it. I'm really hoping that my style is going to stretch and bend once I move to Seattle. I think the change will spark an over all change and I'm ready for that. I still have to figure out how to deal with the shoe problem though... not very confident on that front right now. Anywho, thanks for reading! xxx

  1. I love this look for you--especially how you've got these tough looking combar boots on with such a dainty dress. I guess people commenting on your dress just means that a variety of people can appreciate fashion? haha I don't know.

&& I am a firm believer that when you come to college that your style definitely changes. You try out so many new things, it's so weird! It'll be interesting to see how this affects you. :)

  8. Your friend's hair is so pretty! I love that dress - it's unusual, which sounds like a backhanded compliment, but it really is gorgeous. I'm interested to see how the move will change your style as well...I think it's perfectly natural to change our style in different surroundings, even if only slightly :)
