Let Your Hair Down

dress: ross, shoes: mom's, thrifted
Excuse me while I timidly post these photos -- this is my first outfit post where my hair is not altogether pinned back. It has gotten to the length where I can wear the sides down like this and it sort of resembles the style I'm now going for...! Yippee! Last night I experimented with it a bit and straightened it which was fun to try out too. But here we are. Hopefully it will be only a matter of another month or so before it's all actually all the same length!

Yesterday I went the library and checked out four new books that I plan to read in the coming month: Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Invitation to a Beheading by Vladimir Nabokov, The Wild Things by Dave Eggers, and The Cat's Pajamas by Ray Bradbury. All authors that I've heard great things about (obviously three of them are classic authors as well). I've started Tender is the Night and it's such a beautiful novel so far. I'm in love with the way Fitzgerald writes -- it's so eloquent but he is simple at the same time. I'll let you know how the others are when I get to them! : )

Big plans for tomorrow include picking up my friend Miranda from UC Davis and spending the day with her! Seeing old friends has definitely been a great perk of being home. Happy Tuesday! xxoo E

  7. I've gotta get me some Fitzgerald books to read. The one you've got sounds pretty interesting and once I finally slave my way through the first game of thrones book, I'll have to maybe read it. :)

You're lookin' cuuuuute! I think your hair is growing out just swimmingly. I adore those boots, Miss Elanor!

I love F. Scott Fitzgerald's writing as well, and for the exact same reasons. It's simple and easy to read, but it's also REALLY good writing, and it has depth. Bradbury is one of my favorite (if not my very favorite) authors--again, easy enough to read, but there's a lot of depth there and just really lovely writing.

  10. Aw your hair is looking so cute. It's grown out so quickly! I love your little summer dress you're wearing here. Such gorgeous pictures too, as usual.
I did the same thing when I got home this summer. I checked out a bazillion library books and set out to do some reading I normally wouldn't have time to do!
