The First Rain

dress & bag: marshalls, jacket & necklace: a gift, boots: ross
We had our first true exposure to rain over here in Seattle this past Monday. It was off and on, but just a completely lovely thing. I was worried about taking photos that day, but I really wanted to - and fortunately my friend Mallory didn't mind snapping a few photos before all light disappeared. It's truly the only thing that bothers me about this time of year - the daylight hours growing shorter and shorter. Anyway, I've been channeling the autumn vibe in virtually every outfit I've been wearing lately! This is one of my favorite newer dresses which I bought a few weeks before coming up here.

If you read my Twitter you'll know of the unfortunate evening I had upon returning from Camp Casey on Sunday... I was walking and I rolled my ankle! Hah, the ever clumsy gal I am. I was informed that it was a mild sprain and I guess that was probably the highlight of the past few days! I'm doing better today, but I still can't quit run on it which is a bummer because my exercise levels here need improvements. I've been running a bit with Kristie, and want to continue doing that on my own and explore Seattle by foot a bit. There is so much to see and explore and it's all just beautiful. Happy hump day! xxoo

Camp Casey

As you may know, I went on retreat this weekend with my dorm and one of the other smaller dorm on campus. We drove up to Whidbey Island where Fort Casey/Camp Casey is located. It's half a national park and half a camp owned by SPU. :) It is right on Puget Sound and it was just so beautiful! We wandered down the beach, explored the old cannons and forts along the water, took photos while we walked and just spent time talking with others.

While driving up to the camp,  the mist was settling in and there were occasional drizzles upon our windshield. Being in nature and among the trees was a lovely reminder of how beautiful everything is and how thankful I am to be up here! I want to spend more time in the outside world and really experience all that the pacific northwest has to offer. Going on this retreat was the perfect introduction to that! I hope you enjoy these glimpses of my weekend... I have an outfit post coming up soon! xoxo

For You

dress: c/o sugarlips, purse: gift from nicole, heels: thrifted
Currently sitting in my little corner nook of a desk, sipping away at some freshly brewed French roast and making the occasional glance out the window. Yesterday and now today may perhaps be the first days where the sun never comes out. Of course, I was expecting it at some point. We are in Seattle, after all! The first rain is supposed to arrive this weekend - which just so happens to be the weekend of our dorm retreat. Cross your fingers I can find suitable clothes for running around/getting wet and/or muddy. (because, believe it or not, this girl still doesn't have rain boots...)

My life yesterday consisted of a lazy morning where I had no classes to get to; an afternoon of a bus trip to upper Queen Ann where Kristie and I treated ourselves to a delicious mocha at this local coffee shop called Cafe Ladro (which I definitely would recommend!) We also took a trip to Safeway where it was reconfirmed that being a real life adult who has to real life shop is difficult. I bought $50 worth of groceries and I'm kind of like "wut". I think it's time to get a job maybe... perhaps.

In the evening, I spent time with some new found friends, Katie, Henry, Kenneth and a slightly less new friend, Sam. Pictured below is Katie and Henry... Katie took these photos for me! I awkwardly asked them when they popped up in my room and they agreed. :) I received this beautiful dress from Sugarlips about a week ago and I've been waiting for the perfect weather to wear it and I think yesterday was that day! I got quite a few compliments on it too! I love the detailed bodice and the loose flowy sleeves. Oh, and of course the color. I'm excited by the potential of this dress for more autumn wears with tights and coats and the like. Have a beautiful Thursday! xx

Three weeks in

It's my third week up here in Seattle and I decided it was about time that I put together a little Instagram post. As you've noticed, my posting has become more infrequent then it has been in the past, but I that was to be expected. There is just so much to do here and half the the time, I'd rather not interrupt what I'm doing to take outfit photos. I also haven't figured out going and using a tripod by myself, so that contribute to my lack of photos as well.

Anyway, a few updates in my life include The xx show last Friday...! It was mind numbing, you guys. I can't exactly put into words how much this band speaks to me, or how much I adore Coexist... But the show just confirmed everything. The xx stole my feels and I don't think I'm getting them back.

To all my new followers: greetings! If you found me via my lovely "feature" on GOMI, then that's hilarious and thank you for joining us! :) I'm delighted to have you and I hope you enjoy your stay! I'm trying to find time to get back to people's comments, so I apologize if it's delayed. I hope you all have a great Tuesday! xx

Fall Feelings

pants: target, sweater & shoes: thrifted, purse: vintage, scarf: a gift
Oh look! Pants! I went a little pants-crazy at Target the week before I left for Seattle, so I actually have more than one pair to wear now. And I actually like how they look on me; imagine that! Autumn is strolling on in to the pacific northwest and I couldn't be more excited. The leaves are changing here in Seattle and the air is getting chilly. Tis the season for even more coffee - and you don't want to know how much coffee I'm already drinking over here as it is.

The second week of classes have wrapped up - I feel like time is flying by, and we haven't even been here too long. We had our floor traditions this week on Wednesday which were crazy and ridiculous - and we also played a game of Fugitive with our brother and sister floors last night. We were tied with rope to a guy from our brother floor and the sophomores drove us to a park far from campus. We had to find our way back to SPU before 12:30 and simultaneously not get caught by the sophomores. The difficult part of this was that any car we saw could have had sophomores in it, which made the whole situation quite intense. Long story short, no freshmen won and in the process of running away from a potential capture, I fell (of course). So now I'm a bit battered and bruised and sore all over.

Hopefully I may feel a bit better by the morning because tomorrow Kristie and I are going to see The xx live in concert! Bahhhhhh I'm so excited. Do you know how amazing this is going to be? I will tell you all about it soon. For a more reliable update source, check out my Instagram (@missinglovee) and my Twitter! xoxo
