Railroad tracks and underpasses.

(scarf, & blue shirt: mom's closet // necklace: a gift // denim jumper: wasteland // white leather belt: goodwill // sandals: ross)
My friend, Jessica, and I went semi-exploring around the "cuts", or back-roads, of our town. I hadn't been to these old railroad tracks before so we hung around there for a while and took photos under the underpass.

I have a love-hate relationship with this jumper, by the way. Some of the time, I basically despise the shape and front of it. But then other times, I find ways to style it, so then I enjoy wearing it. The only bad decision with this outfit may have been the shoes. Again, my shoes prove to be not good for "terrain" usage. Haha...

Anyway, looking back at these pictures, I've decided I want to steal Jessica's shirt. The print is awesome, and that striking orange color is lovely. I also like how she tied the look together with the black men's button-up. I'm hoping Jess and I can go on more shoots, but I think this was a good start. ;)

Discussion #1: FRINGE.

Hallo readers. :) I'm posting earlier than normal today! But that's because I don't have any outfit photos for you today. :( However, I think I still have some interesting topics to discuss! That's right. FRINGE.
The dynamic and fast-paced show, airing mid 2008, focuses on the investigation of different parts and aspects of fringe science. I watched the first episode of it yesterday after hearing chatter about it from Derek for the longest time. The show is intriguing - it makes you think. And it's just plain trippy, to be frank. At least, this is what I've gotten out of it so far. I've read mixed reviews about it, however. Stretching from something like, an intense paranormal adventure, to, poor in comparison to the X-Files (a similar show that preceded Fringe).

I'm not going to do an actual essay review about this show, but I just wanted to comment on it because I just watched it. Derek and I talked about it earlier today, along with other topics having to do with fringe science and the phenomenon surrounding it. It's very interesting to me; it's amazing to think that things that are viewed as sci-fi/fantasy could somehow be real - could be possible (as described in Fringe... "rare diseases, chimeras, mutants, psychic abilities, teleportation, etc). I think just the thought of the unknown is mind-boggling. But the thought of there being a chance of this unknown BEING known - or even better, it being real - that's just cool. I gotta say.
(the protagonist, olivia dunham, played by anna torv.)

But anyway. :) I got up at 5am this morning to go work at this race from 6-11am, (as mentioned here in my "thankful" section), and I made $100 for about 6 hours of work! I'm quite proud of myself and I hope the people who hired me hire me again. The event was rather fun, too, so that made it all the better.

Oh, & by the way, my mom and I decided to go to Santa Barbara for our roadtrip! We are leaving the 22nd, I believe.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Peets and a straw hat.

Happy Friday! It seems that my Fridays are continually filled with grumping about and not doing anything. Ah well... at least I managed photos which is great, I'd say. However, you get to kind of see my injured leg (though you can't see the worst of it cause I have a bandaid.). I decided that I'm not going to stop taking daily-ish photos just because of my leg. It's not that bad after all.
(straw boater hat, & loose white shirt: forever 21 // floral skirt: ?? // straw purse: crossroads (thrift store) //orange leather slip ons, & brown leather belt: goodwill)
(look! there's my cat, zoey! it's rare for her to be captured in a photo! ;) hehe.)
I went on errands with my mom today, and lastly we went to Peets coffee shop where my mom took a couple photos of me. After I got home I took the rest of these shots with my tripod. :) It was a pretty boring day, overall. But I guess not every summer day can be interesting. What I really need to do is start my summer assignments for my two AP classes... Oh dear.
This past week...
1. I'm thankful for my boyfriend, Derek, and how he greatly helped me when I fell earlier this week.
2. I'm thankful for the newsletter in my neighborhood - because someone hired me for this Sunday. 6-11+ am. $15 an hour. Nice! ;)
3. I am thankful for my cat, Zoey, because she always makes me happier! :)
4. I am thankful for all the other fashion bloggers, especially my favorites, because they give me so much inspiration.
5. I'm thankful for the smell of Crew pomade, and vanilla perfume. Hehe. Favorites.

Fun times and gravel that rips out skin!

Hello! I feel like it's been forever since I gave a real, genuine update! I posted super late on Monday night/really early Tuesday morning(?). Before I tell you what happened yesterday, a few hours after I took these photos, you can have a look see! ;)

I actually had a lot of fun with this shoot. I *discovered* that you can jump in the air while the camera is taking photos and things turn out...interesting! Heheh. There were many more photos from this, but I had to choose my favorites - else there would be way too many!
(dress: thrift town // porkpie hat: target // necklace: market in new mexico // white cami, & purse: forever 21 // socks: dad's closet // boots: goodwill)
So, quick break, let me begin. I went to Derek's house and we spent a good hour prepping for a hike we were going to go on. When we were ready to go, ten minutes into the hike, I slip on gravel and VOILA a gash and many cuts on my leg appears! So basically things aren't fun and we went back to his house and cleaned it up but now then I'm all sad. So long story short, we didn't do much yesterday cause our plans sorta crumbled... Oh well. (don't even ask why I was wearing this dress to go on a hike... grawwwrr...)
But anyway, I'm okay now, but I'm just sad I couldn't go on that hike cause I was pumped for updating today with some awesome wilderness pictures! Ah well, like Derek says, we have the whole rest of the summer.

As for how I'm going to take outfit pictures now that I have rather unappealing cuts on my leg... I don't know... :( So, I may not have as many daily outfit posts for a while, which is too bad... But I will still try to update at least every other day. I'm hoping I can gather more followers, soon, too. Trying my best! :)

I hope you all had a lovely Wednesday. Other than not doing anything till 2:30 pm, I went to Target with my mom! Yay! Hehe. I can't help it, I love Target. I got a few things that maybe I'll show you guys later... ;)

Have a great night!

I said you really gotta hold on me.

I'm going to make this rather short, because it's late and I don't really know why I waited this long into the night to update...but ah well. Let's begin. :) Saturday, July 3rd, fair! Derek and I had a pretty dandy time.

(vintage tiger 1970s men's wife beater, & belt: goodwill // purse: thrift store // black flats: ?? // pearls: antique store // tube bra: american apparel)

(left to right: jessica, kat, and david - the not smiling one! tsktsk. >:c)

Sunday, July 4th, took a fairy into the city and saw the fireworks with 6 friends, and of course, Derek. That night was rather messy, to say the least. But I don't want to get into it. Heh. The photo above is 3 of the 6 of us who took the fairy in. We played Uno and sang Flight of the Conchord's songs! Twas rather amusing. :)

I'm not going to go into detail about either event - but I hope you all had a lovely 4th if you're an American! This year wasn't too exciting, but then again, I never get too worked up about the Fourth of July anyway.

I really should go to bed now. It is 1:15 am! Sheesh! Have a good night/morning!
