Lump Sum.

I got my hair trimmed today. Also, since some of you commented on it in my last post - here's sort of a close up on my braid. Amanda from The Upside Of Wonder told me that it's called a Jedi braid! Honestly, I had no idea what it really was called. I just knew that I liked it. Well, here it is. It's still growing, obviously. :)

Also, I thought I'd post this video below. The song is Lump Sum by Bon Iver, and the video is really beautiful. I wanted to put this up because the band I'm in is going to cover this, and I've been learning this song all day. It's really quite lulling and pretty.

9 o'clock start!

(skirt, & belt: goodwill // shirt: forever 21 // necklace: h&m // boots: vintage store in seattle)
It's Thursday! Gosh this week is going by so slowly. I guess that means I'm back in school. Heh. I took these photos yesterday morning before school. We start later on Wednesdays (9 o'clock), so I had a bit of time. :)

I really liked this outfit. Everyone always comments on my skirt and says, "Where did you get that?!" And I chuckle and say, "GoodWill!" They don't believe that I bought a cute skirt from GoodWill, and then hemmed it, I guess. But anyway, the color is so pretty and I thought it went nicely with my cowboy boots.I need to get my haircut! I feel like it's getting long. Haha... Also, I don't know if any of you have noticed my little braid thing I've been doing (it's tiny, so you probably can't see it too well...). Maybe I'll just take a head shot sometime soon so you guys can see it. But anyway, about that - I plan on growing it out longer than the rest of my hair! I don't know if you guys/anyone like(s) it or think it's weird; but, I know I like it. So whatever! :)

Talk to you soon!

P.S. Thanks for all the lovely comments! I'm going to try my best to respond over the course of the next few days...! :)

First Day Of School!

(dress, belt: goodwill // pocket watch necklace: etsy // bracelet: a gift // socks: payless // shoes: forever 21)
Hello readers! Welcome new readers! I'm finally here to post and update and all that exciting stuff! School started yesterday, and I thought I'd tell you a bit about that amongst the photos I took of my First Day Outfit!

This year's schedule is difficult, but I do like it as well. I have 7 periods (I had 8 last year, and the year before, so I'm happy!). Two of which are AP classes... AP language and composition and AP US history. Other than those two, I'm taking advanced treble choir, rockband, physiology, Spanish 3, and... Pre-Calculus. Whooo fun! ...Heh.
So this is what I wore the first day. :) My lovely thrifted, 90s floral print dress was finally taken out of the closet again - and I threw in my socks and oxford! I got some compliments, which was nice. Hehe.

It is so ridiculous. As I sit here typing; I'm baking so bad! Monday decided to be 92 degrees, and today was a record-breaking temperature of 96 degrees or something?! I wonder why the hot weather decides to spring on us the week that we have to go back to school. I'm sure it'll cool down by the end of this week though... and then I'll be wishing it was warmer out... pshhh....
I got these shoes from Forever 21. I like them a lot, but Forever 21 seems to be the new craze. Seriously. Forever 21 and H&M. They are both good stores with great prices, but now every girl and their mother at my school wears these two store's clothing. And that seems like it. Hrrrrm. :/

But ANYWAY...! My kitty Zoey is so cute! I managed to grab her in time for the 10 second timer on my camera! (I still have no remote...)

I'm still figuring out how I'm going to have a routine for updating. The workload seems heavy... but I know I'll figure out how to manage and keep this thang running.

Night!

Last day of summer.

(pea coat: goodwill // dress: forever 21 // pearls, & vintage purse: antique store // boots: thrifted // socks: online?)
Well, technically tomorrow is the last day of summer. But today was the last day to do anything. It started out rough because of a few things, but it potentially improved! I actually had a successful last day. :)
I went to the Art and Soul Festival in Oakland with my family and we met up with my parent's friends. I was going to go with Derek too, but stuff happened and he didn't end up coming. But it was fun anyway! :) We went to this fest in particular to see Cake. That's right, Cake! I love Cake, though oddly, I haven't downloaded any of their newer music... I should get on that 'cause they played some of it today and it was great!
We left after Cake was finished because they were the last show I think, and that was around 4. Derek contacted me around then and we decided to meet up! We ended up walking to the store and buying the ingredients to make Butter Beer (from Harry Potter, of course!). I would give you guys the recipe... but it wasn't too good. :( It was much too sugary! Maybe if you like that... but I don't. After that we watched Dawn of the Dead, the 1978 version. Lovely evening! Hehe.
The photo above... This little gal is Sophie - my dad's friend's daughter. I've decided she's quite fashionable! She's only 7, but just check out her cute skinny jeans and darling scarf! Heheh. I decided to put her picture up here with another of mine. :)

Anyway... School starts Monday! I have no idea when my next post will be! We'll see when I'm situated and available to post again... I gotta see the homework load and all that jazz.

Hope you all had a nice Saturday!

Just let me sing you to sleep.

I'm back! Got home yesterday at 10 pm. Eeek! My trip was lovely, but there were too many photos to put here, however, I put my favorites of Derek and me. :) My favorite is, of course, the first photo of us kissing. We never get good photos of both of us, so I was super excited when this one turned out perfect...

Sorry if this whole blog post is gushy and romantic and cheesy and silly, but it's how I've been feeling! Heheh, that could be what spending 8 days with a person can do. We had a few little bickering moments throughout the trip, but overall, it was amazing that we could spend so much time together without wanting to kill one another! That's always good, I've got to say. Hehe.
I shall not say every little thing we did, but an overall description is this: we camped with Derek's mom's side of the family up in Mount Rainier, which is in Washington. I hadn't been camping in a number of years, so I was rusty! But it was fun!

These couple silly photos below are of a day where we had run around all morning hiking, and looking around, and cooking over the fire... And this is us around 5ish! We were lightly napping in the tent that I slept in with Derek's sister and cousin. Well, napping as in taking photos of us looking sleepy and funny! Derek looks just about ready to pass out. Hahaha...
On the drive home, we stopped in Winston, Oregon to drive through a 600-acre safari! Twas exciting! Hehe. The most interesting were the ostriches and these cute, furry bears! They seemed to be the most active. This guy swam around with a bucket for a bit before lumbering around to see his other bear friend! Good times. :)

I'm about ready to pass out myself now, so I'll wrap this up. School starts the 23rd, and I'm going into Junior year...! Sheesh, I'm nervous yet excited! I'm going to need to figure out how I'm going to be doing outfit shots during the week, so bear with me as I learn the ropes of blogging and schooling at the same time. Heh.

Have a great Thursday! And thank you all again for your continuous support!
