Goodbye, again?

Unfortunately and fortunately, I'm going on another trip tomorrow! To Calistoga, California, with my boyfriend Derek's family. I thought I would be able to get an outfit post in before, but alas, I did not. I apologize, but I will be back the 3rd!

About the photos: Derek and I adventured a bit today and I managed to get a few pretty pictures. Not too much photo-success though. I'm hoping there will be many-a-opportunity for photos in Calistoga. :) edit: i took no photos... i am lazy! but i'll be back to my normal schedule soon~

Talk to you next week!

Santa Barbara Roadtrip! Part IV

My final post on my Santa Barbara roadtrip. :) From now on, my posts won't likely be this long or photo full! Haha. I had so many photos from this day, too! These were my favorites. Enjoy...!

Sunday was our last day in Santa Barbara; not even a full day, though - we were driving home around 11:30ish. So we woke up, dressed and packed up, then went off to the beach. I hadn't been there yet the whole trip so I'm glad that we got to finally go! It was beautiful. I've lived in Northern California for the past 5ish years, and our beaches are not like this. Granted, Santa Barbara is sort of Southern California, wouldn't you say? Haha... Let's just say I forgot that beaches could be somewhat warm! I could take off my sweater! It was brilliant. Mmmhmm. :)
(dress: forever 21 // eagle head necklace: national park ?? // purse: antique store // heels: mom's closet // shawl: thrift town)
We walked along the pier for about a half hour, taking pictures of the shore and the wharf. It was early so there was still fog out, but the sun broke through and it was lovely out. I've got to say, I love beach photos. Almost every shot we got out in the sand looked amazing and I was so excited to make this blog post with them in it!
You've seen this dress before, but this time, NO SKIRT! Just the dress. It's kind of short, but I still think it's a very cute summer dress. With my odd-ball shawl from Thrift Town, well, I'm good to go! Not to forgot these shoes again. I'll have to put a bandaid or something over the spot that these heels rub against. Cause I certainly think they are cute & want to keep wearing them.
I hope you enjoyed my 4 day posts about my trip! I certainly had a good time, and I can't wait to go on another roadtrip next summer with my motherdearr. :) We always have fun together.

As for future posts and such, expect back to normal - everyday or every other day. And oh dear! I'm almost at 10 followers. This is so exciting! Hahaha, thanks to you all. ♥

Talk to you soon!

Santa Barbara Roadtrip! Part III

Part III! Out of IV Parts. Hope you guys are enjoying my rambles about this past weekend...!

Saturday my mom and I had a nice breakfast at this cafe downtown. She had an omelet and I had pancakes. Ah, delicious. Next, we went to the Santa Barbara natural history museum! We learned about the natives of SB, as well as all the past/current mammals, birds, insects et cetera!
The museum had an outside area where we took some pictures of us in wilderness! Haha, well not really, but sorta. I had a lot of pictures from this day, but I had to pick only a choice few...else this post would be very long! I really like this next photo of my mom and me. I love my mom's outfit, too. :)
You guys thought there wasn't going to be a complete outfit shot, didn't you? Haha, never! We found this cool little stone step area where we took some outfit pictures. This scarf, shirt, and belt are all new! Well, new to me. The scarf my mom got from The Closet, the second-hand trading store that I mentioned from yesterday's post. The shirt and belt are from GoodWill, of course! I tried out mixing the stripes from the shirt with the flowers from the belt. I thought it was a mix well done. ;)

I stuck with wearing sandals, because my feet are getting so beat up these days with the shoes I'm wearing...It's really bad. :( I need shoes that don't hurt my feet.

As for the rest of the day, we went to these "sunken gardens" that turned out to not really be anything interesting...and after that, we did some more shopping and I bought some new shoes! To be shown later. That night we were supposed to go to Mieko concert, but we accidentally didn't...! Haha... So we went to The Kids Are All Right, instead. It was...interesting. Haha...

I'd better wrap it up...! Thanks for reading! Tomorrow is the last post from my Santa Barbara roadtrip and I have really great beach and pier pictures from it...! Stay tuned. :)

Santa Barbara Roadtrip! Part II

Happy Monday! I hope you guys won't mind post after post after post until I get through all the photos we took from our roadtrip...! Today's update is Part II of my roadtrip to Santa Barbara. Friday, we were actually there and ready to check out the city.
(sweater, & shirt: costco // skirt: shop in new mexico // shoes: mom's closet// necklace: tillys // purse: antique shop)
(left: my mother dear is stylin' too. ;) // right: even the atm machines in santa barbara were beautiful! haha)

Friday we started the day off by walking a bit, just looking around. By noonish, we were beginning to starve because we didn't have any breakfast, so we found this nice little restaurant. Joes! We got two meals to split, but it turned out to be too much! From that point we figured we might as well split one meal between us, and then maybe get deserts. ;) Yum! Below is us, with our choice beverages - sipping away! Heheh. And, of course, the restaurant. I thought it was a cute little place, and the food was great. After lunch, we walked around more. Santa Barbara's downtown is brilliant. It has every shop you could possibly think of, and a lot of great food places too (not to mention the beach is only a few blocks down from all that, as well...) We found this trading clothes store called The Closet, and I grabbed this cute gold tank top for pretty cheap, since the store is secondhand. I decided to wear it out of the store because it matched my lovely New Mexican skirt so well! :)

After that, we discovered where the local GoodWill was and scurried on over there. Two or so hours later... Let's just say I found a lot of great stuff. :) The prices were a lot better than the GoodWill where I live. I'll be sure to point out the clothes when I've got an update with them in it!
Finally, that night we went to a fancy Italian/Mediterranean cuisine restaurant! It was called Neo Chase. We split some yummy steak dish with a baked potato. It was delicious! The place was very pretty too. Although it was expensive, I would probably go there again, given the chance. :)
Thanks for reading, everyone! Part III will be out tomorrow, me thinks. Also! Today, Derek and I have been together for 10 months. :) ♥ I never would have expected this, but I am so glad! The months have literally just flown by. I think we are going to plan to do something fun hopefully soon, seeing as we can't today. But that's a different story. I'm so happy I'm with him, it's a great feeling. ♥♥

Have a nice day!

Santa Barbara Roadtrip! Part I

Greetings, my friends. :) I have returned from my roadtrip to Santa Barbara! It feels weird to be home again, and also, to be blogging again. But I'm very glad, because I have a lot to tell! My mom and I had a great time, and we luckily managed to take a lot of photos each day. I'm choosing my favorites/fashion shots to put here though. Today's post is PART I because this needs to be spaced out in four days worth of posts! Lengthy, indeed! Let's begin?
(dress, & belt: forever 21 // necklace: from derek ♥ // minnetonka moccasins: thrift store // purse: antique shop)
Thursday we started our trip, leaving at around 11:30. We stopped in Salinas, CA for lunch and afterward, found an antique store. I found this amazing vintage purse that you are now viewing in these photos! I got it for $20, and I'm really glad I did. It's lovely.

We continued our drive and for dinner, we stopped in San Luis Obispo, CA. It is a great college town with a lot of shops and such downtown. Oddly enough, Thursday nights are farmer's market nights - so we joined the throng of people! We ran around a bit getting outfit shots and managed these before it got too dark. After sharing a taco salad for dinner we left San Luis Obispo and continued on our way to Santa Barbara...! :)
We drove into Santa Barbara around 10:30ish and got our key to our little cottage dump house. Why do I call it that you ask? Well, cause it sort of was. They didn't even have a light bulb in the bathroom's lamp... But I found the whole place rather charmingly tacky and kitsch in a weird way. But anyway... It was a nice spot because we were in the middle of town - close to the beach and close to the downtown shopping area. We learned our way around Santa Barbara within no time. ;)

Look out for Part II tomorrow!

Santa Barbara!

I thought I was going to have a chance to do an outfit update today, but I didn't manage any photos. So frustrating! Oh well, because... tomorrow I leave for Santa Barbara with my mom for our road trip! Aaaand, I'm going to be taking many photos. ;)

Today I had an oddly special day with Derek. We tried meditating and talked all night about life, important things, music, & et cetera...

I'll be back on Sunday (7/25) from my road trip and will have plenty to share with you all...!

Talk to you then!

Street Style #1

Hey there. I've decided when I don't have outfit updates, I'm going to do either a street style post like this one, or one similar, except the photos will be my favorite bloggers etc.
(sources: the style scout & hoy fashion)

from left to right, and onward each row et cetera...

1. I love the simple, but vintage feel to this outfit. The gray frock is darling and those red shoes really do make the outfit pop.
2. How I would love to have a coat and a pair of shoes like that! I really must start looking. Her sunglasses are cute, too.
3. Sort of mixing of patterns here - I love the long scarf though! When this fall and winter roll around (which seems to be sooner than I thought, now...), I would like to buy a few more scarfs. I also like the scarf-in-the-hair look! I need to figure out how to do that!
4. I don't like myself in shorts, but this gal is a complete doll. Socks, shoes, and coat. So adorable. (i love her haircut too!)
5. Again with the red-popping shoes! Ahh, Doc Martens. Really can make an outfit, can't they? I love how these shoes look with her pretty, dainty skirt. The clutch is rather neat, too.
6. In this outfit, I like the dress, sweater, and necklaces. The details on the dress are quite darling (i don't like her shoes though, oddly enough).

Everything's Up In The Air

(loose mustard dress, & belt: forever 21 // gray cloth vest: h&m // navy keds: goodwill // bracelet: tibet shop)
I wore this yesterday to spend the afternoon with Derek at his house. Looking back at these photos, I realize - I like this dress, but I've got to admit, I don't quite like how all of Forever 21's fabric material is so thin. I guess because they are inexpensive they are allowed to do it. Oh well... It it just bothersome because then I have to wear a slip under their dresses because they are see-through.

Only just now did I realize, also, that I didn't post anything Friday - which means I had no "Thankful" section this week...! I apologize! Next week. ;) What I did Friday was not too crazy, but I am excited to say that I got new sheets and such for my bed! It made and is continuing to make me happy. The quilt is so darling, and I adore the huge sham that I now am going to be leaning up against to read every night (i just need a tall light fixture for the corner next to my bed... my room tends to be fairly poorly lit). And, of course they aren't new, my plushie kitties. :) Not as good as my real feline friend, Zoey, however! If you didn't notice, I once again managed to get shots of her! Success!

Painting the town red.

Yesterday, Derek and I went to a town about 20 minutes away in order to go to a clay class, but we forgot the check... so, we ended up just walking around for a few hours. And we took photos! Yay! I didn't like the photo updates on Monday that much because we took the pictures on a different camera than my normal one so the shots weren't as nice. So I was glad to use my own simple Powershot. :)
We got scones at Starbucks and discussed Worldly Matters while chewing. Hehe. At that point, I hadn't got an outfit shot yet, so I asked Derek to take some when we were finished. Luckily he obliged! About my outfit... I always feel boring when I wear pants, but ah well, I figured I hadn't worn them for a while. I really like this shirt though! I got it from Target, to boot. :)
(scarf, & flats: mom's closet // mint shirt: target // forest green cardigan, & hobo purse: all vintage everything event // jeans: forever 21 // belt: dad's closet // necklace: h&m)

Poor Derek and me. Me, with my torn up leg and the back's of my heels constantly being ripped off (not good shoes...? heh.)... and Derek, a brace from screwing up his wrist! (see image below) Sheesh. :( Maybe we need to be more careful...
We found this really cute garden nook in the middle of the town to take the photos at. There were pretty purple flowers and red flowers and it was all just lovely. Perfect location for a short shoot! And Derek took the photos of me, which was great. It's nice not having to use a tripod and do the time-and-dash (setting the timer...running to pose...).

Have a great night, everybody!
